Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in compiling and analyzing the quarterly forecast and annual budget for the company.  Duties include:

  • Working with department heads to forecast SG&A and revenue line items as part of the quarterly forecast and annual budget.
  • Analyze monthly budget to actual for SG&A and revenue line items to explain unexpected variances to forecast and to budget. Review with department heads monthly actuals and variances.
  • Assist in helping to insure actual and forecast line items are categorized into the correct G/L expense and revenue accounts.
  • Assist in the creation and compilation of a monthly reporting package for Senior Management, highlighting results and variance analyses.
  • Assist in the compilation of historical business metrics and statistics that can be used in budgeting/forecasting/modeling.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects and analyzes as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.                    

Education and/or Experience: Degree in Accounting and/or Finance0-2 years. Experience in a financial analyst/budget analyst role for a company

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability:  Must have the ability to solve practical problems and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be prepared to perform significant portions of their work in a computer based work environment.  They should have experience with:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
