Summary:

Plans and directs the operations of the market to ensure that financial and other objectives are met and that the market operates in accordance with policies, procedures, and requirements established by the Board of Directors, regulatory bodies, and others, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Recruits, hires, builds trusted relationships with and supervises market personnel.  Communicates and demonstrates a compelling team vision/strategy.  Implements corrective actions promptly when appropriate.

·         Maintains responsibility for credit quality of bank market.

·         Manages interest rates and spreads on loans and deposits, with input from COO.

·         Serves as bank representative in professional, business, and community organizations to promote bank services.  Responsible for overall business development of the bank.

·         Coordinates communication and reporting activities between officers and departments to ensure availability of data required for efficient daily operations.

·         Reviews reports and financial statements to recommend policy/strategy changes as warranted due to changes in economic conditions.

·         Analyzes and competitively responds to financial services offered in the business community.

·         Plans budget, sets market strategy, develops action plans and monitors financial activities.

·         Makes decisions in accordance with government laws and regulations.

·         Develops and oversees the implementation of short-term and long-term sales, marketing, lending, pricing, and operational goals and strategies for bank market.

·         Identifies and procures new bank sites.

·         Manages the residential mortgage lending operations for the Meta company.

·         Responsible for special operations projects for the company as directed by the President/COO.

·         Solicits new business and participates in community or other service programs to develop goodwill.

·         Demonstrates personal commitment to excellence in sales and service to customers and other employees.

·         Demonstrates customer service by managing difficult or emotional customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs, soliciting customer feedback for improvement and responding to requests for service and assistance.

·         Other duties may be assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise market employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.   

 

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A valid driver's license.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to handle self in a professional manner under stressful circumstances with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

 

Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

Reasoning Ability: 

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be prepared to perform significant portions of their work in a computer based work environment.  They should have experience with:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
